ABOUT GOLDEN DAYS - A FESTIVAL AND NETWORKING ORGANIZATION 

Golden Days is a secretariat for different cultural projects in Copenhagen. Among other things Golden Days organizes a festival each year during the month of September. The purpose of the festival is to present Copenhagen's culture and history in cooperation with the city's cultural institutions.

The secretariat's work ranges from developing and coordinating festivals and historical commemorations to the production of cultural events, creating marketing platforms and the publication of books.

The Golden Days secretariat considers its foremost duty to provide new insight and help the residents of Copenhagen become more culturally and historically aware via each project developed within the Secretariat.

Golden Days Projects
Golden Days was founded in 1993 and has through the years held festivals about everything from the Danish Golden Age, Christian the fourth's Copenhagen, Copenhagen in the Inter-war period and the human body as a historical theme. In the autumn of 2010 the festival will focus on Denmark in the 1700s.

Golden Days also produce a long line of other cultural events and is the secretariat for BrugKulturen (Use the Culture), a collaboration between cultural institutions and business organizations. Golden Days is also the secretariat for Museer i København og Omegn (Museums in Copenhagen and surrounding areas), an association of more than 70 museums in the metropolitan area. MiK (Museums in Copenhagen) publishes an annual booklet with information about all the museums.

In December 2009 Golden Days created Copenhagen Municipality's major cultural event Hopenhagen LIVE, which took place at the City Hall Square in connection with the international climate summit COP15.
